Quilts in Bloom: A Bouquet of Textile Art

Shelburne Museum in Shelburne, Vermont presents Quilts in Bloom: A Bouquet of Textile Art –a dazzling display of flower quilts that includes award winning contemporary works along with works from the museum’s world-renowned collection. For Quilts in Bloom senior curator Jean Burks has selected a brilliantly colorful array of more than a dozen finely-crafted works. Most are focused on a single flower. The show includes well-known contemporary quilters Judith Leslie and Emilie M. Belak of British Columbia and Velda E. Newman of California.

Opening to coincide with "Convergence 2008" the biennial conference of the Hand Weavers Guild of America this show will exhibit a cohesive, world class exhibition of contemporary tapestry. Firehouse Quilts 3rd Annual Quilt Show

Firehouse Quilts is a non-profit group of volunteers that make and donate snuggle & twin size quilts to local fire departments, hospitals, victim advocate offices and Battered Women's Shelters to be given to children in time of crisis. This is our only fundraising event.

Heritage Days Quilt Show

Show hours are 9 am to 6 pm Friday and Saturday. The show will include vendors and a boutique. No strollers, please. Viewers’ choice ribbons will be awarded Saturday, July 19th at 4:30 pm. Raffle quilt, “Friendship Medallion,” was designed by the Friendship Quilters Raffle Quilt Committee, headed by Dode Westendorf and Sara Bockenstedt. Raffle tickets are available from guild members and at the quilt show. Drawing will be on Saturday at 5 pm.

Sewing Fields of Quilts

The show, which begins on Friday, features beautiful quilts by guild members from across the state. There will also be a silent auction of items made and donated by guild members, a fabric dive, a magazine/book sales area, and 13 vendors. In addition, free mini-demonstrations and lectures will be offered each day of the show and the beautiful pieced and hand appliquéd raffle quilt will be on display and tickets will be sold. It will be given away Saturday afternoon. Professional Quilt Appraiser, Jennifer Perkins, will be appraising quilts during the show. On Friday evening, the guild banquet will be held at the Perry United Methodist Church and will be followed by a presentation by Betty Lenz.
